Training and lineage.
Kathak, Bengaluru. Three gurus, and a studio of his own.
Mysore B. Nagaraj trained in Kathak under Smt Tapoti Sinha, Guru Dr Maya Rao and Guru Smt Chitra Venugopal.
He holds the Karnataka Kalashree Award (2020) and a Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture. He has performed in Singapore, Nepal, Scandinavia, North America, the Middle East and Europe, and has more than twenty home productions to his name.
He is the founder of Articulate Dance Studios in Bengaluru, where he teaches Kathak. With Dr Suparna Venkatesh he trains and works with Articulate Ability, a troupe of blind dancers, which toured the United States in 2014. His TED talk, Kathak: its Genesis, was given in January 2019.
